A huge new creation from NoLimit City – now we understand why their releases before Tanked were a little lackluster. Put simply, the largest number of slot mechanics of any slot game ever made. Tanked is a slot machine like no other, but be warned, the volatility here is extreme and the free spins will be activated on average at a rate of 1 in 249 spins. Do not make large bets on this one unless your bank roll can stand it.
This Tanked slot review will give you the lowdown so that you can make an informed decision on whether to play this game for real money or not.
TANKED: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
There is a lot going on in this slot. From the characters in vehicles at war with one another to exploding bombs and guns, we have never witnessed such an innovative slot before. With that being said, we found Tanked to be very frustrating due to how hard it is to trigger wins. We used the xBet feature in order to guarantee two bonus symbols on the reels at the cost of 2x the bet. We were betting £1 per spin but with the xBet it was £3 per spin. However, in order to trigger the bonus, it is not enough just to see three bonus symbols, you need one of the characters to drive over to it, thus you need a winning payline on the same reel as a character and a bonus symbol.
We did eventually trigger five Carnage Spins bonus (three bonus symbols) but only after we were over £100 down. With that being said, we hit a pretty big win during bonus spins of £76.20. One spin in particular generated the majority of the win.
Overall, this slot was probably too volatile for us to actually enjoy it. We finished our 20 minute session down by over £130.
TANKED SLOT FEATURES
Features galore in this one so buckle up as we explain them all for you below.
XLOOT
Payout are awarded when the moving character symbols pick up gem symbols of its same colour. Weapons (Tank Boosters) can be collected by all characters, as can wild symbols.
TANK BOOSTERS
There are four different types of Tank Boosters which can be picked up by characters.
- Rocket – The character which pick sup the rocket will shoot the wall closest to any random enemy character. The explosion will remove all characters it hits and any other symbols which will be replaced by new symbols and increase the size of the grid by 1.
- Grenade – The character will throw the grenade at a random enemy character. The explosion will remove all paying symbols and they will be replaced by others.
- Power drill – The character which picks up the power drill will use it to get to the largest cluster on the grid which matches its colour.
- Airstrike – The character hits up to three enemy characters which creates an explosion and adds more paying symbols.
XBOMB AND BARREL BOMB
These symbols explode if there are no character movements or no tank boosters available. The xBomb explosions remove all paying symbols and increases the overall multiplier by one. The Barrel bomb removes all paying symbols and expands the grid vertically by one.
BOOMS
- Small boom – When three characters are next to each other and cannot move, they will explode and remove all symbols.
- Big boom – When four characters are next to each other and no character can move, the characters will explode and remove all paying symbols on the reel area and increase size of the grid by one step.
GRID EXPANSION
The grid can expand up to a 9×9 grid. Grid expands by one step if Rocket hits the wall, a Barrel Bomb is self triggered or Big boom is triggered.
XNUDGE AND XSPLIT
The xNudge Wild will nudge down to the bottom position of the reels or until it hits a non-paying symbol. If there is no multiplier when the xNudge lands, it will set the multiplier to two. It then increases the multiplier by +1 for every step it nudges. If additional xNudge Wild lands, a +1 multiplier will be added.
The xSplit symbol splits all paying symbols horizontally or vertically, doubles their sizes and then converts itself into a Wild. It also doubles the value of any multiplier that is hit by the xSplit.
CARNAGE SPINS AND CARNAGE ROYALE
Land three bonus symbols awards five Carnage Spins. Landing four bonus symbols awards seven Carnage Royale spins. If all characters die in the same explosion then the game will be upgraded to Mayhem spins.
MAYHEM SPINS
The grid will be set to 9×9 and a +10 multiplier on top of the current multiplier is carried over from base game. During Mayhem spins, all characters life will be set to one.
Mayhem Spins can be retriggered if all characters die in the same explosion. This will award the player with +1 extra spin and +10 multiplier.
XBET
This costs three times the base bet and will ensure that triggering the bonus modes is four times more likely.
4 TANK BOOSTERS
Costing 40 times the base bet, if you use this then four random Tank boosters are distributed to the characters.
