It’s not often before you play a slot game that you get a warning saying that scenes within this slot may be distressing to some players, but that’s exactly what you get in NoLimit City’s Mental 2 slot game! This slot takes place in a mental hospital and is the sequel to the hit, Mental slot.
This Mental 2 slot review will provide you with all of the information you need so that you can make an educated decision as to whether you would like to play it for real money or not.
MENTAL 2: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Now, even for us, this slot is complicated to get your head around. There are plenty of different elements and features to this one. However, based on our experience, the only way to hit any wins which even resemble decent sized, are by triggering the bonus spins.
Whilst betting 20p per spin, (28 total as we activated the xBet feature) we managed to trigger one round of eight Bloodletting spins and this is where we hit a big 278x win. The reason why big wins are common during the free spins is because Fire Frames and Fire Reels (more on these below) remain sticky throughout. Therefore, by the time you reach close to the end of your free spins, you should have built up a fair number of them on the reels.
Unfortunately, nothing else really happened other than the free spins. After the bonus game, we were up over £60 and then we spin our winnings until they reached zero again! Overall we broke even playing Mental 2.

FIRE FRAMES AND FIRE REELS
Fire Frames are randomly assigned to 1-13 positions on the slots reels. Any symbol that does turn into a Fire Frame will be split into two parts.
Randomly 1-5 reels in the game may turn into a Fire Reel. Any symbol which lands within a Fire Reel will be split into three parts. This is not necessarily a good thing though because it does not make activating the bonus game any easier as a split symbol with a scatter does not count as one scatter.
DEAD PAITENTS
Activated when you see two Dead Patient symbols on the reels, you will get a random multiplier of: x5, x10, x15, x30, x50, x100, x200, x500, x1,000 or x9,999. During our play through, this happened to us once but we did not trigger any winning paylines on the reels so the multiplier did not apply! Very disappointing and likely to occur because winning spins are so few and far between and hitting two Dead Patient symbols is even rarer!
ENHANCER CELLS
Similar to other NoLimit City slots, Mental 2 comes with the Enhancer Cells feature which are located below reels 2, 3 and 4. This feature works with the Fire Frames as the more Fire Frames that appear, the more Enhancer Cells are activated.
- 4 Fire Frames activate the Reel 2 Enhancer Cell.
- 6 Fire Frames activate Reel 2 and Reel 4 Enhancer Cells.
- 8 Fire Frames activate all 3 Enhancer Cells (on reels 2, 3, and 4).
SCATTER SYMBOLS
There are two different types of scatter symbols in Mental 2: Cognitive scatters which appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 only in the main. Disembodied scatters which can only appear on reels 2 and 4. Depending on the combinations of the landed scatters, you will be rewarded with different bonus games, which we have outlined below.
- Landing 3 Cognitive Scatter symbols triggers 8 Bloodletting Spins.
- Landing 3 Cognitive Scatter symbols and 1 Disembodied Scatter symbol triggers 9 Surgery Spins.
